BASICS Guide 03 of 05

What an item price includes—and what it leaves out

The number next to a find is a starting point for a budget. It is not automatically the amount you will pay to have that item delivered. Separate confirmed charges from estimates before deciding what fits your haul.

01

Start with the selected option

First confirm the currency, quantity and exact option behind the displayed price. A listing may show a starting price or offer several versions at different prices. Read the full product page and the shopping agent’s order screen for the option you intend to buy.

KakoSheet does not publish checkout totals. The finds on this site lead to KakoPicks, where you can review the listing and follow its purchase link. Record the current item price when you make your shortlist; a saved screenshot or an older list may no longer reflect it.

02

Give each charge its own line

Keep the item amount separate from domestic delivery to the agent, any agent or payment fees, optional inspection or packing services, and international delivery. The applicable charges and what is included depend on the provider and order; verify them in the current checkout or quotation.

Do not enter zero just because a field has not appeared yet. “Not quoted” and “included” mean different things. A separate notes column lets you record where a figure came from and whether it is a quote, an estimate or a charge already paid.

03

Treat shipping as an estimate until quoted

An international delivery estimate can depend on the packed parcel, route and service selected. Product weight alone may not be enough to reproduce the final quote. Packaging choices and how items are combined can change the information used to calculate it.

If you allocate a parcel quote across several items for planning, label the allocation as your own estimate. Dividing the quote equally is convenient, but it does not tell you what sending each item alone would cost. Recheck the provider’s current quotation when the parcel details are available.

04

Make a budget that shows its gaps

For an illustrative worksheet, suppose an item is listed at 24 units of your chosen currency and domestic delivery is quoted at 3. The confirmed subtotal is 27. If international delivery has not been quoted, write “pending” alongside it; 27 is not a delivered total.

Use columns for item, quantity, confirmed charges, estimated charges, unknown charges and date checked. Keep all figures in one currency or record the conversion used. The example above is arithmetic for organising a sheet, not a price, fee or exchange rate offered by KakoPicks or an agent.

05

Recheck before you commit

Before ordering, revisit the selected option, quantity, delivery assumptions and any optional services. Review the provider’s current terms for cancellations, returns and refunds because a lower item price does not explain those conditions.

For destination-specific import charges or restrictions, use the relevant official customs information and the provider’s current terms. This guide does not calculate taxes or determine whether an item can be imported. Keep unresolved costs visible when deciding whether to proceed.
